This will enable you to grasp the basic concepts of our syllabus in a safe and more personal environment. The orientation classes are a must, as you will be taken through some of the most important martial arts techniques. AWARD WINNING PROGRAMS

AWARD WINNING PROGRAMS

During your FREE introductory period you should be prepared to make a decision as to your future at our school. You will need to be planning on living in the area for at least the next six months. We run a very open and straightforward monthly payment system. The monthly fee is paid by standing order to our tuition management company who handle all of our finances, so you should have a bank account that will accept this facility. All training fees, Grading fees, Insurance, Belts, certificates, Licence (and Merit Badges for juniors) are included. You should look to train twice a week but you can train as often as you like at no extra cost. We do have a life time membership fee of Twenty Pounds which is payable with you first months tuition, the standing order will take effect from then on. You can cancel you agreement at any time, all we ask is that you give us 90 days notice so that we can enrol someone to take your place, you will still be welcome to train during this period.

Spotlight Week

Spotlight week takes place once a month. It is during this time that a student's progression is assessed. In order to qualify a student has to have attended a minimum of 8 classes per month. The children must have also completed an 'Intent to Promote form'. This unique form includes such items as completing their homework and keeping their bedroom tidy and must be completed by teachers and parents. This week gives the students a fair chance of making the required standards to move up to the next grade.

An average student will take around 4 to 5 years to achieve the coveted Black Belt. Attitude effort and consistency are key factors that contribute to a person's progress. We are aware that there are so-called martial arts instructors that promise you a black belt in 2 years but if that's what you want then save yourself the money and just go and buy one in a local sports shop. But don't expect to have the qualities of a genuine Black Belt.

To earn a Black Belt you will need to work hard and persevere. To get there its not going to be easy, but we will help you to overcome the difficulties and encourage you to reach your full potential.

Attendance Tracking

To qualify to enroll as a member of the MTA a student must be able to train at least twice a week. You will select your two main classes, these will be where your assessments are done and your attendance is tracked. You can train at any of our schools but these are your main lessons.

The Black Belt Club

This is a unique concept and entrance is by selection only. After your initial 6-12 months a report is submitted to the Master Instructor who then invites the candidate to join the prestigious BBC. Members of the BBC can then qualify for the demo team, SWAT team. They also get an extra discount on all purchases from the MTA. You will be able to spot BBC Members by a patch on their uniform or by the black and blue uniforms which they have the option to buy. This privilege is to signify their commitment and loyalty to becoming a Black Belt.
